Its menudo is celebrated for staying true to traditional flavors, offering a rich, comforting experience that many locals swear by. The tacos de chicharrón prensado also stand out, praised for their bold taste and fresh quality. I get here at 7:30-7:45 a.m. on Sundays to avoid the crowds. Best menudo in Chula Vista: always fresh, always rico. The hand-made tortillas are delicious, too.

The only menudo my dad will eat — 10/10! The tacos de chicharrón prensado are also a 10/10. The service is great, and the food always comes out warm and in a timely manner. This is definitely one of our favorite places.

I went for breakfast at 10am today. There were way too many people waiting, and outside in the parking lot there were empty tables. There's no organization, and the menudo isn't as good as they advertise on social media. Personally, I won't be back.

For me, the menudo is actually not as good as described in the advertisement (which is where I got it). In my opinion, it lacks a lot of flavor.

Only Cash!!! No plastic transactions. Regardless of the comments above or below, in my opinion and experience as a customer, the menudo soup served here is the closest flavor Mexican style, the employees are nice most of them women, if you want to enjoy a good menudo soup in southern San Diego, this is the right place to do it., an alternative to crossing the Mexican Border in Tijuana. The place is small and weekends are packed, parking lot is wide and free, HOWEVER…!! More AC is needed because the place is closed, no ventilation from outside it and gets hot inside especially in summer time.

Nestled in the heart of Chula Vista, Menuderia El Korita stands out as a beloved spot for authentic Mexican menudo. Located at 1355 Broadway B, this small yet vibrant restaurant draws a loyal crowd, especially on Sunday mornings when early risers like Paul Conley arrive to savor what many consider the best menudo in town. The broth here is rich and fresh, showcasing traditional Mexican flavors that invoke a comforting warmth with each spoonful. Complementing the soup are handmade tortillas, praised for their freshness and authentic texture, adding an essential layer to the meal.

Menuderia El Korita’s menu doesn’t stop at menudo; the tacos de chicharrón prensado come highly recommended by patrons such as Norma Alfonso, who rates them a perfect 10, alongside the attentive and timely service that makes the experience even more satisfying. Despite its charm, the restaurant faces challenges like limited seating organization and a cash-only policy, which some customers have noted, as well as the need for better ventilation during hot southern California summers.

The ambiance is intimate, often packed on weekends, reflecting its strong local following and reputation as a genuine alternative for those seeking flavors reminiscent of Tijuana’s culinary traditions without crossing the border. While some reviews include critiques on flavor depth and overcrowding, the overall feeling is of a place deeply rooted in cultural authenticity, delivering a niche culinary experience that celebrates the essence of Mexican cooking through its menudo and carefully crafted dishes.
